Your vote counts for min(6, 1 + log2(1 + active days)), where an active day is a day you recorded an effort in the last 180 days. Distinct days, not the number of efforts — uploading forty rides in one afternoon is still one day.
Why days and not sign-ups. A brand-new account is worth 1. Fifty new accounts are worth fifty, and buying more than that means buying fifty real riding histories spread over months. That is the whole reason weighting exists here.
Why it stops at 6. 0 days is 1, one day is 2, a week is 4, a month of riding days is 6, and that is the ceiling. Riding more never buys a louder voice past that. Nobody gets to outvote a room.
Why it expires. Only the last 180 days count, so somebody who rode hard two years ago and stopped does not outvote somebody riding this week.
Weights are frozen when you vote. The weight on a vote is the weight you had the moment you cast it. Old tallies do not quietly rewrite themselves as people's riding changes.
Ranking. Open requests are ordered by weighted support divided by a growing function of age, so a popular old item cannot sit on top forever. Downvotes count at half weight and can never push an item below a brand-new one — they demote, they do not bury.
